Robinson Preserve Paddling Trip May 2021
Robinson Preserve Paddling Trip May 2021. The Robinson Preserve is a beautiful park to explore. Unfortunately, the lower bay gets inundated with blue/green algae and it all tries to get into Robinson preserve and clog up the waterways. The access to get out into the bay has barriers up to keep the algae out but it keeps us paddlers in as well. So we paddled the inside of the park this time. There is a new extension to the park so there is more area to paddle on the inside. The new water area is more like lakes. And the land is full of new trees and plants. It will take a few years for the trees to grow and fill in. But it is a great addition and will just get better. As always, the park was full of wildlife including Ospreys, Roseate Spoonbills, Ibis, Egret, and Heron. We had a full trip will lots of paddlers on the water. It was a warm but comfortable day and the winds kept it fresh. It was a great day to be on the water and enjoy the beauty of Florida. Thanks to everyone for coming and enjoying it with us.
