A Delightful Weedon Island Paddling Trip May 2023
The weather gods were with us for a Delightful Weedon Island Paddling Trip May 2023. A bright sunny day but not super hot yet. We had a big group come out and take advantage of this great day. The mangrove tunnels where beautiful. Plenty of mangrove crabs where out watching us paddle by. A few birds where around but not lots, including Great Blue herons, Osprey, and Night Heron. There was a Dolphin just as we put in but he didn’t stick around and not everyone got a good look. The happy mullet where jumping. The water was nice and clear through the mangrove tunnels. We had a high tide so no dragging kayaks through the trail, but it was a bit deep when getting in and out of the kayaks on the sandbar for lunch. Big Thanks to Jeff and Darleen for bring out the boat. It so nice to be able to tie off and cook lunch on the boat. A Great day to live in Florida and enjoy the outdoor treasures we have in our back yard. Thank you everyone for coming out and paddling with us.
