Eno Doublenest Hammock
The one most people should buy. The DoubleNest hammock is ENO's wide model — 9'6" long by 6'4" across — and it is far more comfortable than the narrower SingleNest for a fraction more weight.
Is a DoubleNest Hammock Actually for Two?
Honest answer: not really, and you should buy it anyway.
Two adults fit and it is well inside the 400 lb rating. But a gathered-end hammock squashes two people together in the middle and neither of you lies flat. It is fine for an hour of lounging; it is not a двухместная bed.
What the extra width really buys you is a better one-person hang. More fabric means you can lie diagonally, which is how you get flat and comfortable in a hammock rather than folded like a banana. That is the actual reason the DoubleNest outsells everything else ENO makes.
DoubleNest Hammock Specification
• Capacity 400 lb
• 9'6" x 6'4" open
• 19 oz
• FreeWave 70D nylon taffeta
• Anodised 7075 aluminium hardware, triple-stitched seams
• Integrated stuff sack with internal stash pocket
Note the capacity is the same 400 lb as the SingleNest. The difference between the two models is width and three ounces, not strength.
Straps Are Not Included
The most important line on this page, and the reason people go home disappointed.
An ENO hammock does not come with suspension straps. What is in the bag is the hammock, two anodised 7075 aluminium wiregate carabiners, and the integrated stuff sack. That is it.
You need a strap set as well. The Atlas straps are the standard answer and match the hammock's 400 lb rating exactly — we keep them on the same shelf, and we will not let you leave with a hammock and no way to hang it.
Hanging It Without Damaging the Tree
This is not box-ticking — it is why many parks require webbing.
ENO's own guidance is webbing at least 1 inch wide. Leave No Trace say the same, and add: pick a tree at least 6 inches in diameter, hang from the thickest part of the trunk, and keep the hammock no more than 18 inches off the ground.
Rope and paracord do not meet that standard. A narrow line concentrates the load and cuts into the bark and the living cambium underneath, which can kill the tissue. Wide webbing spreads it.
Never screw or hammer anything into a tree.
