The straps to buy with the hammock. Atlas hammock straps are ENO's standard suspension, and they are rated 400 lb — exactly matching the DoubleNest and SingleNest.

Why Atlas Hammock Straps Match the Rating

A suspension system is a chain, and a chain is as strong as its weakest link.

ENO's hammocks are rated 400 lb. Atlas straps are rated 400 lb. Nothing in the setup is the weak point, which is not true of every strap on the market — ENO's own lightweight Helios straps are rated 300 lb, which makes the suspension the limit rather than the hammock.

For general use, for a heavier paddler, or for two people lounging, Atlas is the right answer.

Atlas Hammock Straps Adjust Without Knots

15 daisy-chain loops per strap, 30 combined attachment points. You clip the hammock's carabiner into whichever loop gives the hang you want, and adjust by moving a loop.

No knots to learn, nothing to slip, and you can level the hammock in seconds when one tree is thicker than the other.

Hanging It Without Damaging the Tree

This is not box-ticking — it is why many parks require webbing.

ENO's own guidance is webbing at least 1 inch wide. Leave No Trace say the same, and add: pick a tree at least 6 inches in diameter, hang from the thickest part of the trunk, and keep the hammock no more than 18 inches off the ground.

Rope and paracord do not meet that standard. A narrow line concentrates the load and cuts into the bark and the living cambium underneath, which can kill the tissue. Wide webbing spreads it.

Never screw or hammer anything into a tree.

The 1.5" width meets that standard comfortably. Worth knowing: the Leave No Trace Center sells these straps in its own shop, which is about as good an endorsement of a tree-friendly suspension as exists.
