Braden River Paddle Trip Nov 2023
Braden River Paddle Trip Nov 2023. The weather was great, perfect temperature a bit of wind which you only noticed on the lake, blue skies and no chance of rain. The trip is one of our longer distances, but there is little to no current so we don’t have to work against that. There are lots of birds on the island next to the lake, with flocks of Cormorant, and Turkey Vulture, filling the trees with some Anhinga, Egrets and heron mixed in as well. Along the river there were not as many birds, but we did see some Moorhen, and an occasional little blue heron, hiding in the grass. Anywhere there was a good log sticking out of the water your likely to find some turtles sunning themselves. We also spotted a couple small alligators. As usual we stopped for lunch at the Linger Lodge which is always a fun experience. This time we even had a guy playing the Saxophone for entertainment which was quite interesting. After lunch it was a casual run back down the river to Jigs Landing and the end to a great day on the water. Thanks again to everyone for coming out and enjoying this incredible day on the water with us.
see you in January.
