Snagless Slotted Padeye Kit
Six low-profile pad eyes with no snag points. A snagless padeye kit is the tidy way to add or replace deck attachment points, and the slotted mounting holes mean it usually drops straight onto holes that are already there.
The Slots Are the Clever Part
The mounting holes are slotted rather than round, and they are sized to catch both the 1-3/8" and the 1-1/16" padeye hole patterns.
Those two spacings cover most factory pad eyes. So when you are replacing a cracked original, you generally do not have to drill new holes — you line the slots up with what is already in the deck and screw it down. Fewer holes in a boat is always the right answer.
Snagless, and Why It Matters
A pad eye sits on a deck you drag gear across, run line over, and put your hands on in a hurry. A squared-off one with a lip catches a fishing line, a jacket cuff, a net bag or a knuckle.
These are contoured with no sharp edge for anything to hook on. It is a small design difference that you notice mainly by its absence — nothing catching is not something you observe, it is something that stops happening.
Fitting a Snagless Padeye Kit
#10 stainless self-threading screws are included. Bed each pad eye in marine sealant and use bonded sealing washers under the heads.
If a pad eye is going to take a real pull — a trolley end, a seat strap, a tow point — consider machine screws through well nuts instead, with a backing washer inside. Self-tappers hold fine for rigging that is merely guided; they work loose under years of sustained load in polyethylene.
