Cockpit Seal SandpiperRim Cover
A cockpit cover cut for one specific boat. Sandpiper here is the kayak model, not a Seals product line — the Eddyline Sandpiper has a big 48" x 22" cockpit that no standard pattern covers, so Seals give it its own.
Why a Sandpiper Cockpit Cover Has Its Own Pattern
Seals size most covers by a pattern number from 1.2 up to 7.0. A handful of kayaks have openings that do not match any of them, and those get named codes instead — Sandpiper among them.
So if you own an Eddyline Sandpiper and have been hunting through numbered sizes with no luck, this is why, and this is the part.
This Sandpiper Cockpit Cover Is Not a Skirt
For storage and transport only. It keeps rain, leaves, pine needles, insects and nesting wasps out of a boat sitting on a rack, and it stops a cockpit filling up in a Florida downpour.
It is not rated for paddling and has no release system. Do not sit in a boat wearing one.
Sandpiper Cockpit Cover Construction
The classic Cockpit Seal build: tear-resistant cargo-cover material with strong UV protection, an adjustable bungee that grips the coaming rim, a hull strap and tether hook, and double-stitched seams.
The hull strap is the part worth having. A cover that only grips the rim can lift off at highway speed; the strap ties it to the boat.
One Honest Note on This Listing
Our shelf price on this Sandpiper cockpit cover sits above what the standard Cockpit Seal usually retails for, and above what we charge for the ULTRA. It may be the heavier neoprene cover rather than the standard one.
Ask us before you buy and we will open the bag and check which build is actually in it. We would rather do that than have you find out at home.
