Mocean's 12' Ace is a 42 lb thermoform kayak that's easy to load solo and steady enough for a first-timer — with two sealed hatches, gear tracks and a custom-formed seat.
The Ace is the boat we hand somebody who wants a kayak they'll actually take out. At 42 pounds it comes off the roof and down to the water without a second person, and at 12 feet long and 24.5 inches wide it sits steady under a brand-new paddler without feeling like a barge to anyone who knows what they're doing.
Thermoformed ABS is what keeps it light and glossy — a good bit lighter than the rotomolded plastic boat sitting next to it, and it holds its shine in Florida sun instead of chalking out. Adjustable foot pedals and a custom-formed seat keep you comfortable for a full morning, and two large sealed hatches, deck bungees, gear tracks and a paddle clip give you somewhere to put lunch, a dry bag and a phone.
Bay, spring run, slow river, no-wake canal — the Ace is happy in all of it.
