Solid shaft YakGrips are the version for one-piece paddles, where the grips can't slide on from the end. They wrap around the shaft at your hand positions and close with hook and loop.
What They Do
Grips prevent rubs, calluses and blisters, and take some strain off your hands and tendons, which helps paddlers with carpal tunnel or arthritis. They also keep your hands in the same place on the shaft, stop them sliding when the shaft is wet, and insulate them from a shaft that's been in the sun or the cold.
