Zooka II Rod Holder
A rod holder with nothing to break. The Zooka II rod holder has no moving parts at all β no rotating collar, no strap, no catch. It holds the rod using the geometry of the reel.
How the Zooka II Rod Holder Holds Without a Mechanism
The body is shaped so a spinning or casting reel drops into it and locks itself in place. The weight and shape of the gear does the work.
That sounds precarious until you use one. There is nothing to wear, nothing to seize with salt, and nothing to forget to close β and a rod goes in and out one-handed, instantly, which is what you actually want when a fish is on.
The Mechanism Is in the Base
The only moving part in the whole assembly is the LockNLoad base, and it has three positions on a squeeze lever:
Locked β the holder cannot move or be removed.
Adjustment β it rotates freely in any direction but cannot be lifted out. That is the clever one: if a fish hits while you are repositioning, the holder is still captive.
Removal β lift it off entirely.
What Comes With the Zooka II Rod Holder
β’ The Zooka II rod holder
β’ A 4" extension arm to raise and offset the tube
β’ A track-mounted LockNLoad base
β’ A MightyBolt
So it is complete β unlike a bare holder, you are not buying a base separately. It goes straight onto GearTrac or most factory track.
One Limitation
It takes almost any rod except a fly rod β there is no reel seat shape for a fly reel to lock against. It is also sized for larger conventional gear than the original Zooka.
