Serious Complete System
Everything you need to wire a fishing kayak except the battery. This kayak power system is the one to buy if you are starting from nothing and want lights, a fish finder and an aerator running off switched circuits instead of a nest of alligator clips.
What Is In the Kayak Power System
• 1 x five-circuit Power Panel switching system
• 1 x Power Port with 4 ft wire, for mid-ship
• 2 x Power Port with 8 ft wire, for bow and stern
• 1 x 12" battery pigtail
• 3 x SAE power plugs to wire your own accessories onto
So you get three switched outlets positioned around the boat, two spare circuits on the panel for things you add later, the lead that connects the panel to the battery, and three plugs for terminating your own gear.
How the Kayak Power System Goes Together
Battery, then the pigtail, then the panel, then the power ports out to where you need them. The panel's five switches are labelled bow, mid-ship, stern and two accessory circuits, and the whole system carries 15 amps total.
Plan the port positions before you drill. Bow for a navigation light, stern for another, mid-ship for the fish finder and anything you plug in while seated. Each port needs a 3/4" mounting hole.
Plug and Play, No Soldering
Every part of the Yak Power line uses standard SAE two-pin connectors — the same snap-together plug used on battery tenders. Nothing gets cut, stripped, crimped or soldered. You plug the pieces together in the order they go, and the system works.
That is the whole reason this line exists. Wiring a kayak used to mean butt connectors, heat shrink and a prayer. This is a system a customer with no electrical experience can install in an afternoon and trust in salt water.
What the Kayak Power System Does Not Include
A battery, and a way to hold it. We stock LiFePO4 batteries and the Yak Power battery box — though note that if you go lithium, you should use a lithium charger rather than the box's built-in lead-acid trickle charger.
