A stakeout pole is how you stop the boat in skinny water without an anchor: push the tip into the bottom, tie off, and you're holding position over the flat you want to fish. It doubles as a push pole for poling across a shallow bar.

How Deep Do You Fish?
Six feet is plenty for flats and creeks. If you fish water over about 4 ft, look at the 7'8" version. We stock both at our Clearwater shop, and the RotoGrip holder that stows one on your deck.
