A pair of factory Old Town accessory plates — the pre-routed slotted plates that sit at the rear of certain Old Town hulls and give you a place to mount gear without drilling the boat.

What Old Town Accessory Plates Are

These are the factory mounting plates, not an aftermarket bolt-on. They fit the recesses moulded into the boat, and their routed slots accept the common track-mount hardware — YakAttack, Scotty, RAM and Railblaza fittings all bolt to them.

Two come in the pack, which is what most boats take.

Which Boats Have Them

The rear accessory plate positions are on:

• Sportsman BigWater ePDL+ 132

• BigWater PDL 132 and BigWater 132

• Predator PDL, Predator 13, Predator MX, Predator XL, Predator MK

If your boat is not on that list, check before ordering — the plate is shaped to a specific recess and will not sit properly in a different one.

Why You Would Replace Old Town Accessory Plates

Usually because the originals have been drilled to death. People mount, remove and re-mount gear over several seasons, and a plate ends up looking like a colander with nothing left to bite into.

The good news is that replacing the plate is far better than replacing the deck. Drill the plate instead of the hull, and when it is used up, fit a new one for a few dollars rather than living with a boat full of holes.

That is the real argument for using Old Town accessory plates rather than screwing straight into the deck: they are the sacrificial layer.
