Transom Style Motor Mount
A transom motor mount gives a Native kayak somewhere to hang a small electric motor. It bolts into existing holes rather than needing new ones drilled.
A Transom Motor Mount With No Drilling
This is the part worth knowing. The mount is designed around mounting points Native already put in the hull, and stainless screws are included. You are bolting to engineered points rather than making your own in a plastic deck, which matters enormously when you are hanging a motor's weight and thrust off the back of a boat.
Anyone who has seen a home-made motor mount tear a chunk out of a stern will understand why this is worth buying rather than fabricating.
Which Boats Take This Transom Motor Mount
Native's transom mount fits Titan 10.5 and 12, Slayer Max 10 and 12.5, XTR, and Slayer XC.
Native also makes a transom thwart motor mount in 14" and 20" lengths, which is a different product at a different price. Our stock is held under one name in two lengths, so before you buy, bring the boat or tell us the model and we will make sure you are getting the mount that fits it. We would rather check than guess on a part that carries a motor.
Thinking About the Motor
A transom motor mount is only half the job. You also need somewhere for the battery — low and central, not hanging off the stern with the motor, or the trim goes badly wrong — and a way to run and switch the power.
We stock LiFePO4 batteries, battery boxes, and the Yak Power switched wiring system, and we are happy to plan the whole installation rather than sell you one piece of it.
