Jade Canyon X 4 Tent
The Jade Canyon X4 is a four person tent from Eureka's car-camping line — the kind you carry from the tailgate, not up a trail.
What a Four Person Tent Really Sleeps
Four adults, shoulder to shoulder, with nothing else inside. That is the honest answer for any four person tent from any maker, and it is why most people buy a four for two or three people plus gear.
If you are two adults with dry bags, a cooler and a dog, this is the right size. If you are genuinely four adults for a week, look bigger.
Standing Room Is the Four Person Tent Trade
Car-camping tents like this one are tall and boxy on purpose. You can change clothes standing up and sit out a rain squall in a chair rather than on your elbows.
You pay for that in weight and in wind. A tall tent catches air. On an exposed Florida beach or a bare campsite, guy it out properly — every guy point, not just the corners.
Camping This in Florida
Two things matter more here than anywhere else.
Ventilation. Our humidity means the inside of any tent will sweat overnight. Open every vent you have, even when it is raining, or you will wake up thinking the fly leaked when it was your own breath.
Stakes. The pegs in the bag are made for dirt. In sand they will pull out. Sand stakes or a deadman anchor — a stake buried sideways in a bag of sand — is what actually holds.
About Eureka!
Johnson Outdoors closed Eureka's camping division on 30 October 2024. The brand still exists for commercial and military shelters, but consumer tents and stoves are finished — no new production, no new models.
That is worth knowing before you buy. Warranty and spare-part support on a closed line is not something we can promise on the maker's behalf, so we will not. What we can tell you is what is in the box, and that when this one is gone we cannot order another.
