Deck Plate Bag
A deck plate bag hangs below an access port and turns it from a hole in the deck into a usable storage pocket. Drop your keys, phone or wallet in and they stay in one place instead of migrating to the far end of the hull.
A Deck Plate Bag Has to Match the Plate
This is the part people get wrong, so read it before you buy. The bag hangs from the internal collar of the deck plate. A plate without a collar cannot hold a bag at all, and a bag sized for a different plate will not seat.
This 8" x 12" bag is specified for the 8-5/16" quarter-turn deck plates with internal collar. It does not fit the 4", 5" or 6" plates β each has its own bag size.
One honest note about our shelf: we currently stock deck plate bags in 5" and 8", and the quarter-turn plate we keep is the 6-1/2". So if you are buying a plate and a bag together, tell us and we will order the 6" bag to match rather than sell you one that will not fit.
What a Deck Plate Bag Is Good For
Keys, phone, wallet, a spare key fob, a snack, a headlamp. Anything small you want to find again without emptying the boat. It is not a dry bag β the seal is the deck plate above it, not the bag β so anything that must stay dry should still go in a dry bag first.
