Aqua Case Dry Bag Sizes and What Fits

• 5 L — a change of clothes, or phone, wallet and keys with room to roll properly

• 10 L — a day's kit: jacket, lunch, towel, first aid

• 20 L — an overnight bag, or the shared kit for a group

Buy a size up from what you think you need. A roll-top only seals when you can fold the top over three times, so a bag stuffed to the brim is a bag that leaks.

How Waterproof, Honestly

Heavy-duty PVC with thermo-welded seams, D-rings and an adjustable shoulder strap. Aqua Case call it 100% waterproof; there is no IP rating and no depth figure behind that, so we would put it in the middle tier — a roll-top that keeps gear dry in a boat, in rain and spray, and survives a dunk.

Not a submersible case. If you need a tested rating, that is the Pelican Micro Case for small items or the Aryca pouch for a tablet.

Rolling It Properly

This is the part that actually determines whether your gear stays dry, and most people get it wrong.

Push the air out first. Line the two sides of the opening up flat against each other. Then fold the top over at least three times before clipping the buckle. One or two folds is not a seal, it is a lid.

On a Boat

Clip it in. A dry bag full of air floats beautifully, right out of the cockpit and away downwind. The D-rings are there for exactly that.
