Leash Plug Adapter-Starter Kit
A SUP leash plug adapter turns the leash plug already moulded into your stand-up paddleboard into a mounting point for a rod holder, a fish finder or a camera. Nothing gets drilled.
The Problem a SUP Leash Plug Adapter Solves
Paddleboards are a bad place to install hardware. There is foam under a thin skin, and drilling into it risks water ingress that can ruin the board from the inside. So the traditional answer to "where do I mount a rod holder on a SUP" has been "you do not".
Every board already has at least one leash plug — a moulded, reinforced, load-bearing fitting. This adapter bolts into it and presents a LockNLoad interface on top.
What Goes On It
Anything in the LockNLoad range: rod holders, fish finder mounts, camera mounts. They twist on and off tool-free, so you can strip the board back to bare for a paddle and re-rig it for fishing in under a minute.
The adapter is a firm but flexible rubber, roughly 3.25" x 6.00" x 0.25" — flexible enough to sit against a curved deck without stressing the plug, firm enough to hold an accessory steady.
What the SUP Leash Plug Adapter Fits
This fits a SUP leash plug. If your board does not have one, or has a different fitting, this is not your part.
It is also worth thinking about placement. A leash plug is usually at the tail, which is fine for a rod holder you reach behind for, and less good for a fish finder you want to read. Some boards have more than one plug; if yours does, choose the one you can actually see and reach.
