Yakattack Camera Ball
A camera ball mount that does not make you choose between camera types. It carries a 1/4"-20 tripod stud for a conventional camera and a GoPro-style interface for an action camera, on the same ball.
One Camera Ball Mount, Both Camera Types
Most camera balls pick a side. This one has the standard tripod thread that any camera, compact, or small mirrorless will screw onto, and the twin-tab GoPro fitting that GoPro, DJI and the rest of the action-camera world uses.
So the mount survives your next camera. Given how often people switch between a phone gimbal, an action cam and a real camera, that is worth more than it sounds.
Ball Size — Check This
It is a 1" ball, which is RAM's B size. That is the most common size in the RAM ecosystem and it connects to any B-size socket arm.
If your existing arm is a 1.5" C-size — larger, used for heavier loads — this will not fit it. Look at your arm before you order. We stock both sizes of hardware and can check it against yours at the counter in a moment.
Threading the Camera Ball Mount On
The camera ball mount threads onto YakAttack 1/4-20 hardware, so it goes onto a track base, a MightyMount, or anything else in that ecosystem.
Get the base solid before you worry about the camera. A camera on a long arm is a lever, and any looseness at the base is multiplied at the lens. Everything shakes; the footage looks like it was filmed in an earthquake. Short arms and tight joints are the whole secret to usable on-water video.
