Eco tour paddles

Slow-paced, guide-led paddles focused on the wildlife and natural beauty of Florida's estuaries and mangrove tunnels.

A calmer kind of paddle

Slow down. Look closer.

Our eco tours aren’t about covering miles. A guide leads a small group at an easy pace through Coopers Bayou, drifting along the mangrove shoreline and over the seagrass flats so you can watch the estuary come alive around you — the birds, the fish, and, on a good day, a manatee or a pod of dolphins.

It’s beginner-friendly and private — just your group and a guide, on a day you pick. The water is sheltered and calm and the boats are stable, so there’s nothing to prove: two to three unhurried hours with someone who knows where to look.

An unhurried pace

We drift, we don’t race. The goal is to see and understand the water, not to log a workout.

Calm, protected water

Coopers Bayou is sheltered and flat — ideal for first-timers, kids, and anyone easing back in.

Boat & gear included

A stable kayak, paddle, and PFD are all provided. Prefer your own boat? Bring it along.

Out on the water

What you’ll see out there

Coopers Bayou sits where Old Tampa Bay meets the mangroves — a rich estuary that’s home to some of the Gulf coast’s best-loved wildlife. No two trips are the same, but here’s what tends to show up.

Manatees

Gentle giants grazing the seagrass — most likely in the warmer months.

Dolphins

Bottlenose dolphins work the bay and sometimes roll up alongside the boats.

Ospreys

Our namesake — diving for mullet and nesting along the shoreline.

Wading birds

Herons, egrets, ibis, and the occasional pink flash of a roseate spoonbill.

Rays & mullet

Rays glide over the flats and mullet leap clear of the calm water.

Mangroves

The living nursery of the estuary — red, black, and white mangroves lining the bayou.

Wildlife is wild — what we see shifts with the season, tide, and time of day. Your guide reads the water and puts you in the best spots.
