Weedon Island Paddle Trip July 2022
The Weedon Island Paddle trip was another great paddle trip for the books. We had some rain as we were putting in and as we were taking out. But the rest of the trip was dry and hot. The mangrove tunnels were a nice reprieve from the sun, but don’t sit still too long or the mosquitoes will find you and they were hungry. The tide was nice and high so running a ground was not a problem, however we were high in the mangroves, so most people had to take their paddles apart to maneuver the trees. We had lunch on the sandbar, and even with the high tide the water was not that deep. We just rafted all the kayaks together and used the kayaks as tables. I was a wonderful day on the water the rain was refreshing and help to keep it from feeling so hot. And wading and swimming on the sand bar also help cool things off. Thanks for everyone who came out and enjoyed the day with us.
