Crystal River kayaking is the manatee trip. The river is clear and spring fed, and through the winter it holds one of the largest gatherings of manatees anywhere in Florida — close enough that the rule is to sit still and let them come to you, rather than the other way round. It is a longer drive north of the shop than our other trips, and worth the early start.
