Chassahowitzka River Paddle Trip Feb 2023
The Chassahowitzka River paddle trip Feb 2023 did not disappoint. The weather was great no rain it was warmer than they predicted. The only down side was the tide was low so there was a sand bar to get into the tributary going up to the crack. The were lots of manatees congregating around the main spring near the put in, so everyone got there share of Manatee spotting. There where loads of Turkey Vultures on both sides of the main river, warming themselves after a cool night. We also saw Osprey, a Hawk (that buzzed past Kim), Great Blue Heron, tricolored Heron, Little Blue Heron, and a lot of small bird making a racket in the cattails that we would not see to identify. It was a wonderful relaxing day on the water. Thanks to everyone for coming out and enjoying the day with us.
