Prima 110 Sport 1st Class Seat
The Hurricane Prima 110 Sport is the smallest and lightest boat Hurricane makes: eleven feet, 39 pounds with the seat in. If the thing stopping you paddling is getting the kayak off the car, this is the answer.
The Same Big Cockpit
It carries the same 55-inch by 24-inch Sport cockpit as the 125 — easy in, easy out, room for a dog. Sport is the cockpit, not a trim level, and the removable frame seat Hurricane once called the "1st Class Seat" is standard on every Prima, not an option.
110 or 125
The shorter boat turns more easily and weighs four pounds less; the 125 holds a straighter line and carries 50 pounds more. If you paddle creeks and springs, take the 110. If you are a larger paddler or you load gear, take the 125.
Trylon Construction
Hurricane builds in Trylon: a solid-colour ABS sheet with an acrylic cap, heated and vacuum-formed over a mould. Hurricane puts the weight saving at 15 to 25 percent against a comparable rotomolded boat, with better UV resistance and no oil-canning. Their own honest caveat is that ABS is not as impact-resistant as polyethylene — this is a flat-water boat, not one for bouncing off rocks.
