The Scotty gimbal mount drops into a flush-mounted rod tube that's already in your boat and turns it into a Scotty post mount, so you can run Scotty rod holders without drilling anything new.
No New Holes
That is the whole appeal. A boat with factory rod tubes already has the strongest mounting points it will ever have — through the gunwale, backed and sealed at the factory. Using them costs you nothing and leaves the boat exactly as you found it, which also matters when you sell it.
