Sitka 150 (Sitka XT)

The Eddyline Sitka 150 is the boat for a big paddler who wants to go a long way without buying a full sea kayak. Fifteen foot three, 24.5 inches wide, 49 pounds, and rated to 400 pounds — the highest capacity in Eddyline's touring range.

Same Boat as the Sitka XT

Worth saying plainly, because it confuses people: the Sitka XT and the Sitka 150 are the same kayak. Eddyline renumbered the Sitka line — LT, ST and XT became 140, 145 and 150 — and kept the old address pointing at the new page. If you paddled an XT and liked it, this is it.

What It Is For

Eddyline calls it a touring kayak with the playful, nimble spirit of a rec boat, and that is a fair description. It tracks and carries like a tourer but it is forgiving enough for a day on the bay. Three hatches, including a small day hatch you can reach while afloat.

Carbonlite Construction

Eddyline builds in Carbonlite: an ABS sheet for the structure with a hard acrylic outer layer for abrasion and UV resistance, heated and vacuum-formed over a mould. Eddyline reckons it comes out 10 to 30 percent lighter than a comparable rotomolded boat, and it is stiffer, so the hull holds its shape instead of flexing — which is most of the reason a thermoformed boat feels quicker for the same effort. It also takes an adhesive repair like a composite, where polyethylene generally needs plastic welding.
