The Thule DockGlide is a roof carrier, not dock hardware, and it is built around one problem: getting a long kayak onto a car by yourself. The hard part is rarely the weight — it is lifting the boat overhead and lining it up at the same time.
Rest the Bow and Push
The rear saddles are felt-lined and pivot, so you rest the bow on them and slide the boat forward. The felt lets the hull glide without scuffing, and the saddles turn as it goes to centre the kayak for you.
